1471Caitlynn Baggett sent in her SOTM from McKinney, TX in the USA. She wrote: “One day, in the nursery at my church where I work, and my mother, I was talking about how I was unhappy about some petty thing that I can't even remember.

There was a lady there from South Africa that told me that I should enjoy all my oppurtunities, even if they seem stupid.

“But what my mom told me really stuck. She said to me, ‘Caitlynn, do you know what I tell myself every morning? I tell myself that today is the first day of the rest of my life, that way I will appreciate everything that I have, and just have fun!’ Since then, I write that on every surface imaginable to remind myself that today is the first day of the rest of my life.”
