2290 Katrinka explains in her audio clip that: “When I was in college I had directed plays in high school.

”I was going to college to major in directing, and I wanted to get started immediately, I’d done it before. I was talking to a guy at my university, he was a senior and I was a freshman.

”He had directed things and I was talking to him about it. He told me this, that I should wait until I graduated before I directed anything.

”I remember thinking: ‘That’s ridiculous, I’ve more experience than you. How dare you tell me to wait instead of trying to give me an opportunity to get started.’

”Some friends and I found people who were a little more open to different things, started our own theatre company at the school, and it was very successful and I never looked back.”
